  Yes, but... posted by Pit @ 131.211.33.127 on Mar 5 2002 2:12 AM 333
It's one of the nicer small games. The gameplay itself needs a bit work: It is way too easy now, too much powerups and/or too fast shooting frequency. Maybe make the main weapon upgrades also time limited? Graphics look a bit jagged (yes, alpha blending would be nice there), but I prefer nice gameplay over nice graphics...

Since I know the developer a few comments about the critics. As already mentioned ketm is in an early state and may have optimizing potential. It is coded nearly platform independend and so it is not comparable with commercial $70 Windows games with hardware dependent optimized code. The graphics are pretty poor - that's right, but he's a coder not an graphics artist. And in opposit of many coders, it seems to me, graphic artists won't work for idealism but for money only. So if you think you are a skilled artist, feel free to contact the author and try paint a level for the game. --- Rawbit

Some words from the author: 1. alpha channeled-sprites would be cool, but they are not planed at the moment. (I think they are too cpu-expensive.) 2. The game runs pretty fast on my win2k machine (k7/600, matrox G200). If its slow on your machine try to change your color-depth to 16 or try to start ketm with option -32 or -24. (default is 16). 3. There is no music/sound at the moment, but there will be some noise in the final version (perhaps in summer 2008? :))

Engine shows some potential, but graphics need to be worked on. Adding support for alpha-channeled sprites would probably be a good start to help the graphician(s)(?). Pretty good start, slightly slow under win32 (W2K) Pentium 3/800MHz, so some optimization is needed too. No idea of music, if there is any, since I didn't have audio equipment to hear it from.

A promising start. Good graphics, cool effects, multiple weapons. This is in an early state so I won't rate it, but looks like it will be very slick when finished.
