This has to be the best minigolf game I ever played. It has some flaws, but it's great fun altogether. I love the weird courses.

Solid, but to little content posted by Milky @ 83.250.9.71 on Jul 3 2006 6:35 AM 333
It's a pretty good game, very nice gameplay. However, I think the ball "weighs" too little. It bounces too much, IMO. A replay feature would be nice, but not necessary. I think though that the maps need some scenery. In Neverball it doesn't have to be more stuff on the maps, but here, I think the maps look too dull, if you ask me. Stuff like rounded cornes, heightened "edges" at key locations, stuff like that. More variation, in other words.:) As for gameplay, perhaps there should be a feature that would allow players to "screw" the ball, or what you would call it in english, perhaps by using the scroll wheel? Something like that would be great. ... oh and @ emj, don't vote 1 out of 5 unless the game deserves 1 out of 5... that's just stupid and ignorant.

Nice game, but needs network play posted by suso @ 66.244.85.183 on Mar 19 2006 8:27 AM 4444

I've been playing this game for a while and have beat all the levels including some holes in one and some trickshots(posted on the neverforum).

I think what this game desperately needs is network play. Even if you had to type in someone's IP or whatever, that would still be great. The ideal would be to have some kind of neverputt server that you log into and meet up with other players. Also, a replay feature would be nice, but I've heard that's coming up in a future version.

  It's not a 5 posted by emj @ 80.216.125.167 on Oct 15 2005 7:22 PM 1
I want to lower the overall rating.. This is a good game but I think it's to much neverball and to little golf.

Does that make sense? Why don't you rate it what you think it is, rather than what you think the average rating should be? After all, you say it "is a good game", so doesn't it deserve more than one star?

One star should only be reserved for games that should never see the light of day. If you don't like the high ratings from other reviewers, you just don't arbitrarily sink the entire rating scale. By rating this game one star to sink the entire rating, you offend all the other reviewers who gave this game high marks.

The best minigolf game I've ever played (apart from the real ones, of course ;-).

This is the first time I have posted to HP. I was so impressed with neverputt that I had to let you know. The interface is very intuitive and easy to learn, something that is often not the case in a golf game. I also really like the art for the menus and the in-game music. The whole package has a very nice feel to it. Keep up the good work! matthew

  bugs ? posted by MehdiYM @ 195.242.83.15 on Dec 26 2003 6:21 AM 55555
1. If the ball stops near to a moving lump, on its trajectory, then at the next round, when it's your turn, if the lump hit the ball, the ball will move slowly, indefinitely, while you hcoose the right angle and power

2. With the same power, the distance covered by the ball varies. Sometimes, the ball slown down very slowly, covering a very long distance.

New version since merging with neverball posted by MehdiYM @ 83.152.177.92 on Apr 21 2004 12:40 PM 55555
1. bug still here. I only have seen it on the 14th hole because moving lumps pause momentarily, allowing the ball to stop on their trajectory.
2. the behaviour of the ball seems more constant but have changed: with the same power, the ball goes further than and stops quickly than before.

Note: at the 12th hole, one just have to click without changing neither angle nor power to achieve the level.

Quite a nice game, with still a few rough edges. The build process is still pretty ugly, too (I haven't had to mess with Makefiles in quite some time. And it's not just setting variables...) It's fun, though.

Compile on Debian posted by Anonymous @ 68.82.199.189 on Nov 1 2003 10:59 PM
has anyone been able to get this compiled and played on Debian (specifically Sarge)? I can get it compiled, but upon trying to play I get a garbled screen with junk all over it, but no errors in my terminal from which I ran it.
