A Googleearth plug-in would be a good idea.

      ATi Drivers/Textures posted by Anonymous @ 79.66.100.175 on Feb 26 2008 1:15 AM
If you're having trouble with textures on ATi cards, particularly under Linux, take a look at the 'Troubleshooting problems' page on the FlightGear Wiki.

Is there anyway to make this game work on an ATI card. There is just crazy looking textures all over the place. Is there a setting I need to turn off or what. I know to make the GLSL shader dissbaled in another game I have to run it with PLODE_NO_SHADOWS=1 is there something in flight gear that I can do to make it work with the fglrx driver.

      Great scenery!! posted by YeOldeFarte @ 66.162.228.125 on Jan 1 2008 3:12 AM 55555
After finding a distro that plays Flightgear without a problem (Slackware, of course), I noticed how much improved the scenery has become. The urban scenery is actually BETTER than X-Plane version 8. If you've dismissed this sim before, and like cruising new picturesque places, try it again.

My favorite linux game posted by redarrow @ 41.208.11.160 on Dec 30 2007 11:32 AM 55555
This is by far my favorite game under Linux, I regularly play it. The only thing I'd love to see in it would be some sort of combat mode - especially considering the number of military / WWII aircraft available .. however as that's not a focal point of this development I don't deduct any points for it.. ;-)

Doesn't work with fglrx drivers:( Anyway, my aeronautically crazy friend says it's a nice game:P I can't verify it:(

More details rather than a simple whine might help.

Also realize that, currently, ATI's linux drivers are crap, and the problem may be with the drivers themselves.

I don't blame the game for that, of course the ati drivers are to blame.

ATI's windows drivers are also crap. They cause a BSOD on XP and dual core CPUs with various applications.

Still no way to change airplane when sim posted by Anonymous @ 84.56.188.9 on Dec 29 2007 9:15 AM
    is running.

And this for a 1.0 version.
    This is bad.

Because of that, they should have named it better 0.9.11 or 0.10.0 instead of 1.0.

Because of this, i give it only 3 stars, not 5.

    Additional Comment from me:

Without this feature, it just feels unfinished.
This is much better done in X-Plane or even MS Flight Simulator. They can be called flight simulators with a real in simulation menu.

How is it a simulation if you can change vehicles mid-flight?

Sure, it'd be a nice feature, but it's not realistic, so not an important part of a simulation. Great game anyway.

No, looks like you don't give it any rating at all. You have to log in...
