As reported in the Happypenguin main page couple days ago, Glest 2.0 has finally been released:

http://www.happypenguin.org/show?Glest

And from the LIFLG forum you can now find the Loki installer of Linux version to test it out:

LIFLG forum: Glest 2.0.0
http://www.liflg.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=641

Download location:

For those interested, you can check out more screenshots and information here:

PS: Btw, the game has won the "PlayStation ArtFutura Video Game Design Award" granted by SONY in Spain, it's really cool:

Thank you for the installer.
Sadly the game doesn't work for me afterwards. :(

Thanks alot for making the installer. I really apreciate that I don't have to do that myself ;-) It works perfectly for me.

@nath: Maybe if you provided some more information than does not work we could help...

I intended to post those in the liflg forum.
Anyway: The game starts, the intro works, afterwards the game crashes back to the desktop.
I get a "Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)" which isn't very helpful.

The only thing that is special when the game starts is that some multitexturing and 3d textures are used. Maybe your opengl driver is buggy and crashs on you because of that. Try if disabling 3d textures and shadows in the config helps.
