Can't run PrBoom

Whenever i try and run PrBoom by typing /usr/games/prboom i get the following message:

prboom v2.2.3 (http://prboom/sourceforge.net/)
Z_Init: Allocated 8064kb zone memory
IdentifyVersion: IWAD not found

any ideas what i may be doing wrong?

To play the game, you need the data files (*.wad) from either the shareware or full version of Doom. The error message you see means prboom can't find these data files. You either need to install the wad files or tell prboom where to look for them. Check ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/doom/ for shareware Doom.
